Hi
Does anyone have any direct experience of working at VEDC in Abu Dhabi.
A colleague is thinking of applying there. We checked the website ..... it's a boarding school for students who are not academically inclined. A vocational training center or a bootcamp ?? Do teachers live on site? Is it in the middle of nowhere ? I am being asked for advice but I'm out of my depth.

Only if the applicant has experience in inner city schools or prisons. I have heard some nightmarish stories about these male students, so your friend should at the least find out whether the administration backs up the teachers as refers to classroom discipline. Best would be if he could talk to current and past teachers.

Thanks VS. Yes he does have experience in prison education in the UK. You're right it would be useful to speak to current/past teachers. I was hoping some might contribute to this forum.
