Does anyone have any short clips (about 30 seconds long) or links to clips that show active participation in class? I've looked a lot on Youtube but I haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.
By active participation I mean situations like, if the teacher asks a question, many students would raise their hands to answer. I'm teaching high school students so clips of younger students wouldn't be as ideal, but I would still welcome them. Clips of High school or College-aged students here in Japan would be best but I realize that that's asking for a lot.
I found this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOkDrt19Mz4 (0:00-0:37)
I'll use a clip of it if I absolutely have to but I don't like how the students are talking over each other and not listening to their peers' answers. I especially don't like how the teacher recording the video adds to students' disruptive behaviour by talking over the teacher leading the class and interacting with students. Furthermore, the students aren't high school students.
I found another video of students in an ideal age-range. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHW9AXAXgJU (0:53-1:58 )
It's pretty good but the quality of the video is a little poor and I wish the students would raise their hands a little more. If I can't find any good clips, I'll probably use this one.
Thank you in advance for your help, everyone! |
