I'm above the age where I can readily obtain a Z visa. Also money isn't a huge issue for me.
Putting these two thoughts together, I wonder what people think of working on another type of visa, as a visiting teacher, with no salary but accommodation provided, as well as airfare contribution (10K?) and possibly a 2-3000RMB internal travel allowance.
Anyone doing this or can contribute ideas?

I know a number of people above the legal age on a Z visa (converted to residency permit).

If you're open as to where you want to work, that's no barrier. I can see it being an issue in Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou, but look to provinces like Guangxi, Hunan, Gangsu, and I think you'll be fine. Those provincs are listed as I know people working there that are over the age limit. There will be other provinces.

Thanks - but I've already canvassed the 'some places will and some places won't' angle.
As I have a specific city in mind, I want a Plan B that fits in with my OP.
Appreciate thought though!
Best
