|
|
Just an option I'm investigating, but if anyone has any info. or experiences on a Foreign University with a Chinese campus that offers a residential MA TESOL program, I'd love to hear about it.
In particular, I'm looking for a program that would make me eligible for work in the Middle East one day. Also, it would be nice if they had a 2-3 year part-time option, and were located in a city where I could work as a teacher while studying--I'm not currently made of cash. |

| What about Nottingham Ningbo? (I can't give an opinion either way since I know nothing about the program nor the university.) |

| Seems to be Applied Linguistics and not TESOL, though doubt that matters. Seems like a good program. If anyone has any experience with the Uni or the campus that would be great to hear about. |

Yeah. That's what I saw. I imagine that is pretty much MA TESOL by another name and would satisfy most ME requirements.
I'd still need 4+ years of most MA teaching to get the better jobs, ofc. And you need to get that experience at fairly high quality places I imagine. Still, I'm single and could pay my dues somewhere at the lower end of the salary scale.
Not even set on the ME, for sure. But I do want to stay in the biz for the next 25 years and getting an MA TESOL might just be a good idea anyways. Getting a CELTA/DELTA might not hurt as well, especially since you can often get course exemptions in your MA for the getting the DELTA.
Thanks for the help so far. |

| Would the degree say only 'Liverpool University'? I'm worried about keeping any degree acceptable to say Middle East employers are others prejudiced against Chinese Universities. |

Seriously, it took me one minute to find the answer to that question on the university's website. Give it a look. |

| I'm not making serious plans here--I'll be at my current job for at least another two years for various reasons. So I'm just spitballin'--like being in a conversation, you often ask the person (who might know) rather than doing your own research. I could research all of this myself, really. But for now I'm just tapping other people's knowledge. |
