Hi Folks!

After about 2 months of haggling and racking my brain about whether to come to China or not has finally come to a close....and I've decided against it (for now, at least)
To tell you all, it was a very difficult decision to make.

About 2 weeks ago, I was offered a job to sell cars to US servicemen in Korea and so I have just decided to take that job instead. Although the job is 100% commission, it is at least better then teaching (from a korea-teacher point of view).
But I know that if it doesn't work I will be in china faster than you can say "split"!

Thanks for all your help, cheers!

I would do the same and leap at a no-teaching job here..Bloody right after 3 years dealing with Asian schools..I had a lead on something also in Korea but I'm not American so can't get a Sofa (?) visa.

Come over for holidays. Good luck...

Can't you sell cars in the States? Are you coming for the fabulous Korean culture, or what? You'd probably make more money back in the US anyway.

Badboy, I wish you the best of luck. I must comment that you are perhaps the only person on this forum that would choose a non-salaried job as a car salesman over a teaching job in China!

Cheers,
Kirk

I will be earning about $3,000 to $5,000 a month and living in a place where the average expenses is about $1200 a month.

What do you think?

For the rest~~~ I hope to see you all in the pubs over Christmas~ cheers!

In my opinion, you should never have posted your piece here in the first place; who cares what you are doing to make dollars? We are only interested in teaching-related topics!

In my opinion, 'Roger', you should never have defended an obvious nonce ('Whitjohn') on this forum; but who's counting? (I just wonder how you will feel if he ever offends.)

The reason I posted here was to say I'm sorry to the people who helped me with information and advice about going there, although I have decided not to.

And if it was only for "teaching only" topics, why does the forum state "off-topic"?

And if I'm a troll, why do I post "sometimes" when I need information?

I get the feeling China can be as cliquey as Korea is.

Dear Badboy Blue,
Don't take the "Troll!" posting personally. stillnosheep went on a "Call Ludwig a troll" romp and posted that just about everywhere one of Ludwig's messages could be found.
See what you did, stillnosheep? Aren't you ashamed?
Regards,
John

badboy:
Not you! I have no probs with any of your post. Never have had. Good luck in Korea! I was referring to Ludwig.

john:
It appears not.

Ludwig:

You are a troll. You seem to have been born a troll. You may well die a troll.

In the meantime please stop using the word 'nonce' in reference to a University lecturer who made some silly sexist comments about some of the physical atributes of a few adult women, some of whom he claims to have had sex with, on a website unconnected to this site.

Whitjohn's 'offence' was to good taste. He is neither a paedophile, nor a rapist. He is not a child molester, nor, to my knowledge, has he ever taken part in any assault, sexual or otherwise, on a woman or child, ever.

Roger attempted to prevent a witch-hunt turning into a public-lynching, professionally speaking. For that he should be thanked and many of us should be ashamed for trying to stoke the fires of the lynching, if I may mix my metaphors for a moment.

Everybody else:

Ludwig is a troll, let's just ignore him.
