Hello,
I wonder if an adjunct who reaches 65 and enrolls in (required) Medicare would be permitted to work more hours than the minimum stated per the ACA regs since the individual wouldn't require other health insurance (and is no longer eligible for Obamacare). I realize this may apply to a very small population of posters but as you also can appreciate, adjuncts often have to work until the end of the road. Thank you.

Does your state have a health care exchange? If so, check with them and they should be able to let you know. You could, in theory, check with the HR office of your college or university, but I would be inclined to double check anything they tell you. Not that I think they'd deliberately mislead you, but because, as you suggested, this situation applies to such a small group of employees that they simply may not have considered it. |
