This might be a scam. I was in Jeddah for many years and did not come across this. My "moonlighting" activities meant that I came across lots of other EFL teachers from different institutions. Not this one though. Do you have the name right ?

I agree with Scot47. I have lived in Jeddah for about six years and I have never heard of this outfit. A lot of teachers I work with look for part-time work and I think I would have heard something about the place. Of course, I'm not a "man about town", so I could be wrong. |

Hmm...interesting. So, what would be the scam? I did wiki and couldn't find any reference but some reference to someone going there as part of their background, someone with an arabic name. |

A typical scam would be to lead you on through the "recruitment procedure" and then ask for payment of "visa-processing fees". |

Typically, dont we have to pay the agent a fee to process the visa in America or is this included amongst free things such as the plane ticket? |

Naturally if you use an agent, you would have to pay him/her a fee for the work done. But your employer pays (should pay) the fees to the government for the actual work visa.

I have never paid an agent. In some jurisdictions this is illegal (eg UK, Canada) Cost of recruitment should be met by the employer not the employee.
American Exceptionalism probably means this rule does not apply to the "Home of the Brave" ! |
