| How easy is it to transfer money from China to the UK on a monthly basis? |

| Really easy and you should always come to China and work on a tourist visa and no one will give you any grief whatsoever! |

The easiest way is to have a trusted Chinese friend send it from their bank account. I sent money last week from my wife's account and it arrived in the UK on the same day.
Another way is to send a large amount by Western Union and have somebody pick it up for you in the UK.
As far as I know, foreigners can't send money abroad at the moment, or it's very difficult at least. |

What do you mean by "at the moment"?
I've been doing it a couple times a year by transferring to a Chinese friend, then from their account to my overseas one.
I was going to do it again last week except I forgot my passport, but they didn't mention any new difficulties or restrictions.
I have a Bank of China account that I hadn't realised could be a dual currency account.
The last time I went they suggested that if I wanted to do it myself and if I had time, I just exchange $500 a day and leave it my BoC account until I had the $ amount I wanted, then make the transfer myself. It's a bit of a hassle, but my branch is convenient to my home so I'll try that to be more independent. |

| Don't Chinese banks have online banking? Can't you just send it from your Chinese bank account to your UK one online? |

Unless you have pounds sitting in your account, no. I am American, but for some reason have pounds in my account that I could send
Foreigners cannot convert currency via online banking for some reason. Pretty retarded. Can't even change the pounds to yuan without going to the bank. |

I recently used my dual currency account to transfer dollars overseas. I see no reason why you can't do it with pounds. Get your home bank's SWIFT code. Like the Leaf said, change $500 per day (@3104 rmb recently) into pounds and transfer monthly or whatever you choose. |
