|
|
So my new job in a different province just told me they need to see a background check from GZ to prove that I didnt get into any trouble while living here. I am still in GZ for another week, have a Z visa and residency permit, and definitely didnt get into any trouble. So, getting this check should be easy assuming I actually knew where to go.
Ive spoken to my current school, Chinese friends, other message boards, and so far havent gotten any concrete information, can anyone here help me?
Should I go to the entry and exit bureau? What about where my residency permit was issued? Addresses and/or phone numbers are appreciated, I leave GZ on Sat so Im kind of stressing out about having to figure this out last minute!
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I have seen the thread from a few weeks ago that says just go to the police station and have called both the station where I registered and another local one, both implied there was a 'main' office in GZ that should be doing this. |

Ask your new employer where you need to get the report. Since the employer is the expert, he should know where to go. Otherwise, you're just spinning your wheels. If he doesn't know, move on. |

1st port of call is the PSB...then possibily a notary office....and back to the PSB...then the notary...and then back to the PSB.....well you get the idea.
There may even be some "Mei You" and "Mei Banfa" thrown in for good measure.
China really pees me off sometimes, they start to demand police checks for this and that, but are so disorganised that they can't issue their own.....
Oh, and if you want to leave China and work in another country then you will need a police check from China to cover your period out of your home country in order to get a home police check....certainly for the UK anyway! |
