It's a RSAF gig advertised on here. Does anyone have the scoop on them?

Check B3H.org . They are a part of Booz Allen. I know Northrop-Grumman (and possibly Raytheon and others) were vying for this contract. It looks like B3H got it or most of it, although careers.northropgrumman.com is still advertising for teachers. It is to teach future F15 mechanics in English using DLI curriculum.

*Bump*

New advert running.

Questions to the B3H guys (If you would be so kind - PMs are very welcome):

tit for tat, by the way - I can give you the inside skinny on another heavy hitter.

Anyways,

Questions flying around our staffroom as a result of the new ad.....

* Did B3H recently net a further contract(s) in or around Dhahran/RSAF?

* Have salaries gone up significantly?

* Is the 401K new, or was it already on offer?

* What exactly is a "Health and Wellness" allowance?

* Have you moved to new accommodation recently?

I realize I could contact B3H directly (and will do that indirectly) just wondering if you guys on the ground have noticed more improvements (beyond the general improvements that occurred about 4 months ago.)

All the best, from the enquiring minds on the West side. Wink

I think they and people working with them keep it private until an actual offer is made.

Last I heard it was somewhere between 50-60K USD for the year.

Their newest advert says 90K "all-in" so it is impossible to break it down into increments (without knowing) to arrive at a base...

Salary and benefits not on par with the more established military contractors.

Their job posting totally misrepresents then. Even with a 401k, etc., etc., there is no way that this measly salary could stretch to what they have posted of like 80 or 90k a year. It must be one of the lowest paid gigs in the defense industry.

Morale at B3H is lower now than ever. Stress is mounting and management has become increasingly nonresponsive to the teachers. The teachers are trying to please three masters at once - B3H, the Defense Language Institute in San Antonio and the Royal Saudi Air Force. Often these clash with each other.

A veteran administrator has resigned, and another lead teacher has quit before his contract year is complete. The paperwork that resulted from a DLI visit in March is overwhelming people and getting worse.

The students can be a handful, but the real problem isn't with them. The issues lie with DLI and its outdated materials, RSAF keeping problem students in the mix long after they have demonstrated that they do not intend to study (or cannot retain information) and the tendency to add more and more senseless paperwork, deadlines and stress. It is getting worse, not better, as the program moves along.

Security at the compound is a joke. Roaches are ever-present and are not going away.

In the end, it's all about the money - keeping the contract. The mental stability and needs of the teachers aren't considered.

Thanks for the update westy.

Sorry to hear about the rough ride.

If it's any consolation at all - dealing with 3 forces is mostly "SOP" in the military sector here.
It was certainly going on at RSAF previously with "parts," "rsaf," and the sponsor company in Riyadh pulling in different directions.

Hang in there. Smile

Word is that a bunch of teachers are set not to return after Ramadan. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
They seem to be a very small operation. Recruitment is a bit disorganized like they don't seem sure of the exact visa process. E.g., they're not sure whether a medical is required stateside for the initial visa. This could be due to changing requirements on the Saudi side.
Anyway, aside from this, so far everyone there seems nice.

Any more recent info on the situation on the ground?
