|

I have a question about the IELTS exam, the written section. In the past, only one examiner would score the student's writing. I heard a rumor that now a second examiner will review the first examiner's score to make sure he scored the candidate's writing correctly. Is this true? |

Sometimes a second marker marks a paper under special circumstances. E.g. There's a big difference between the candidate's speaking and writing score or a candidate complained about something etc...it generally doesn't happen though. |

According to the IELTS official website, they regularly check the test centres by pulling in the recorded speaking tests and the writing tests. But these are post-test reviews for standardisation, and not part of the normal grading, it seems. |
