|

Hello to all! I would like to know what my options for teaching EFL in Mexico might be from those with experience in the country. Below is my ESL/EFL background:
Education
BA from an American University
JD from same
MATEFL from a British University
Experience
Five years teaching in Asia at a language institute, high school, and university.
Four years teaching for various military contractors in Saudi Arabia
The last 14 years working for DOD as an ESL Instructor
I plan to retire in seven years from my current job and will receive a civil servant retirement package. However, I don't necessarily want to stop working. I have visited Mexico several times and would like to spend more time there ideally, working as an instructor. I'm just concerned that my age at that time (60) might hinder my ability to get a decent position. So, I guess my question is two-fold, (1) what types of job in Mexico would my background qualify me for and, (2) how much, if any, would my age at that time affect my ability to be hired? Thanks in advance for any insight you veterans can provide. |
