Hello everyone!
I am going to teach in a kindergarden in Jinan city. This is my first time teaching kiddies so could you please give me some tips? Some games, songs,...anything is a help
As for the Jinan city...is there any community, website...where I can talk to local teachers or future friends?
Thanx a lot! |

Hello Michaela and welcome
Kindergarteners have a really short attention span, so make sure you change to a new game/activity/song every 3-4 minutes. There are tonnes of games you can use, just google, but I loved playing 'sleeping tiger' when I taught kindergarten... always a winner!
As for Jinan, I don't know where the teachers meet online, but if you have trouble meeting them you can try going to English Corner (that's a bar, despite the name) or Pin Pub in the evening. In the day time I have seen a lot of foreigners walking around Parc 66 (a shopping centre), so you could try that too. Jinan itself is not the most impressive city, but you'll be good for a year there. The best thing about it is that it's a transport hub, so you can fly or get the high speed train to plenty of cool places.
Hope this helps a bit. |

you can check thejinanfog.com, it'll give you all kinds of places and events where you can meet other teachers once you're here.
there's also a facebook group you can join for expats in jinan, to help you meet them online. |

Thank you! The company prepared a one-week training for me which should help me to get ready for those kiddies, so I am relieved
Thanks again for the info! |
