Can those of us who have taught at language institutes in Bogota -- the kind where I can get hired as a native speaker of English, with a BA in English from a US university, and no previous experience teaching ESL -- give some picture of the everyday life routine of teaching ESL?
The work week is usually 42.5 hours long, right? How do your activities break down across the hours of the day? I'm trying to get a picture here.
Thanks. |

So am I.
I have a few interviews set up for this week and would like to know what to expect when I speak to them.
- Wager per hour.
- how long should I wait before they start applying for my work Visa. One guy said after the first three months. This made me a little nervous because if I arrive and a week later start with them, my Tourist Visa would expire prior to their effort. That's cutting it a bit close.
- How bad is the offsite running around? Does the school assist with transportation? Do I still get paid if cancelled?
- Should I expect an hourly wage or do some offer a guaranteed salary plus the possibility of overtime?
- medical insurance?
