My employer is telling me my tefl cert needs to be one with more hours, so I may have to (hurriedly) do a 120 hour course. I've seen posted on here before that there are a few you can do in a day. Could someone with experience post which company you can rush through with? Something that's entirely online so I don't have to wait for someone back in the states or in the UK to grade something.
Thanks in advance. |

Obviously, it's not possible to complete 120 hours of training in a day, a week, a couple of weeks... Is this employer expecting a legit 120-hour qualification or just some subpar, cheapo TEFL cert that can be "obtained" over a weekend? |

They don't care about the quality. They're just worried the FEB will think that anything under 120 hours is too short. I'm already working for them and they're satisfied with my teaching...this isn't for my education it's for a work permit renewal.
EDIT:
In case it was unclear, I already have a tefl cert, just not 120 hours. |

There are some that allow it to be done in about 3-4 weeks, which require you to be in a classroom. I took one in Harbin a while ago called "will-excel TESOL", it was pretty intensive for the lazier folk such as myself. I also took an another one with my company, which was a bologna one, and quite frankly, a waste of time. Otherwise, there is the famous "university of phoenix"-esque certificates that you can get ;P. Do you have a printer? You can get your certificate in a mere few minutes! |

Anything under 120 hours IS too short. Go with Markness' suggestion of just printing one off; it's as useful as anything else in your situation. No '120 hour TEFL you can rush through' is a real cert either. |

The thought of faking one has crossed my mind but I'd rather not. I know I won't learn anything from it but would like to do things properly.
They also said a combination of various hour certificates would work which is ridiculous. like three 40-hour courses would be OK. |

Just to clarify a bit and add some information....
I already have a TEFL cert.
My employer is taking in the current cert to the FEB today.
If it gets rejected I have just a few days to complete a 120-hour cert before my work permit expires.
I'd rather not make a fake one.
Apparently the guy at HR doesn't have a lot of Guangxi or the FEB here is super strict. |

Apparently a 40 or 60 hour course would work too, to complement my other tefl cert. |

Those are the 24-hour certificates. |
