|
|
I saw a recent advertisement for XJTLU and I'm looking for salary and holiday information from anyone familiar with the university. I know there's quite a few posts on here about the university, just looking for some updated information from anyone about salaries and holidays; I get the feeling it's one of those schools where a lot can change in a short amount of time.
I have a MA in TEFL and over 10 years experience, I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of salary that might fetch?
Also, does anyone know the amount and approximate dates of paid holidays they receive? (I don't know much about the Chinese academic calender.)
Thanks in advance for people's advice or info. |

A German friend of mine, PhD in Mathematics, former colleague in Saudi Arabia, moved there a few years ago. I think he was on around 20,000 rmb, but that was a few years ago. I think it would be at least around 25,000 rmb now. This guy teaches Math to Chinese University students in English, on the strength of his PhD from the University of Tubingen (Germany) one of the top academic schools in Germany.
The usual minimim vacation periods are 6 weeks in winter and the same in summer. They may get more depending on their work and study commitments and the particular Head of Department they work under. There are many foreigners working there, but the application process is extremely selective, as it usually is with prestigious universities with good programs and benefits. There is heavy competition for those jobs at XJTLU.
