I saved up lots of money by staying with my parents and working in the US, and now I'm thinking about moving to Japan soon. I'm planning on taking a few thousand with me to help me get settled in.
Is there a bank that is both in the US and Japan that will allow me to withdraw money without fees? I'd like to open an account with that bank and put my savings there so withdrawing money will be just like withdrawing money here in the States.
I'm just trying to figure out what's the best way to withdraw from my savings while I'm in Japan in case I need to, without paying lots of fees. |

CapitalOne 360 will allow withdrawals from 7-11 ATMs without fees. The exchange rate always seems to be very close to the current posted rates. Limited to ¥100,000 withdrawal per day, but easy to manage account online. |
