I ran across a post for this agency. Their 'average' salaries seem awfully high (minimum 9000 RMB/month + housing) - has anyone worked for them/known someone who has/heard any REAL reviews on them? Finding real, unbiased reviews of agencies online is proving to be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Any agencies anyone would recommend? |

9,000 is high for some jobs, low for many. You need to give more info if you want real feedback. |

I'm actually considering a possible offer from this agency as well. Seems to require prior teacher certification and experience. Salaries for the jobs look fairly good. Jobs themselves look fairly good. Site and recruiters look pretty legit but I am curious as well.
I was told to send in some information (which I did). It's been about a month or so since I applied with them and had an interview with one of the recruiters but I haven't gotten much information past that point. Crossing my finger that that's the norm. |

9,000 is not "awfully high" IMHO. And a monthly salary is neither good nor bad until the schedule is factored in. 9,000 and single housing is great for a university job with 15 hours a week. 9,000 and shared housing is terrible for 35 hour, 6 day weeks teaching at a training center.
I noticed Teaching Nomad promoting itself on another site with a comment saying "I hear Teaching Nomad is great" and "they helped my buddy find a perfect job," but the username linked directly to the Teaching Nomad website and was the name of the director. Kind of funny.
I personally don't understand why anyone would use this kind of agency, but maybe it really is a good opportunity. Just ask plenty of questions first. |
