To stay on topic, post about and state the number that follows the number of the previous poster.

ONE the place where it all starts....

There are 4 twos* in English:

to, too, two and 2

*Of course, this sentence cannot be written.

John

Dear Will,
Well, if you count the tutu, too, actually that'd be FIVE.
Regards,
John
( Hmm, and what would it be it you were to count two tutus, too?)

Can't anyone even do a world record attempt correctly without mucking it up? Question

I can name a few different "World Record Attempt" style ideas that I've seen on other forums. But I wouldn't like to start one off - this is once_again's territory (it wouldn't do to go treading on other people's toes). Some ideas for WRA#3? Smile

- Each poster must state something in a different language (no two languages can be repeated)
- Each post must contain the name of a different beer
- The thread must be a coherent conversation but each separate post has to contain a song title.
- From the second post onwards, each one must have a named reference to the immediately previous poster.
- A story is told in the thread involving all of the people who have participated so far in the telling of such story.
- Each post must contain one word only (and punctuation where necessary), but the thread, when read as a whole, must be coherent and grammatically correct.

And I'm sure there are more. In fact, I'm sure there's a list somewhere of thousands of them.

I'm just trying to guess, is it deliberate sabotage or just incompetence? Same thing happens in all the other threads too!

How about this for a world record:

number of renamed members who were booted and came back.
number of trolls

Ah, I have it:
number of failed world record attempts! Now that's a realistic goal!

I had no reason to put this here

I am not sure we were off topic..being incompetent maybe doesn't count as being off topic..anyway the whole idea was to see if we could actually do it and if we could..try to get some sponsorship money from the advertisers on Daves and then have a poll for where the money went to. I thought it might be a fun and worthwhile distraction as the summer months come up and not much teaching getting done....

I figure the thread must keep on topic for a record as if not you might as well just add any old thread together and claim a record..and I figured that it would be easy to stay on topic if would could post consecuitive numbers and it would be easlily veryifyiable..!!!!!! OH HOW WRONG I WAS If anybody still thinks it is a good idea then please put all ideas forward..I still think it would be fun to try and do and maybe even raise some money for teaching projects somewhere..[/b]
