Hello,
I am looking for a job in Istanbul. I am Trinity CertTESOL qualified and looking for my first teaching position in the country. I am currently located in Eastern Europe and Istanbul is around 6-8 hours away depending on traffic conditions.
I'm also aware that conditions and life in general in Eastern Europe are vastly different to life back in Western Europe but that doesn't bother me. I am used to Bulgarian life which is vastly different to life back in the UK.
Does anyone know of any jobs available directly as opposed to going through a recruitment agency?
Also, I have a few more questions and if anyone could answer these it'd be great.
1) What neighbourhoods are the better neighbourhoods in Istanbul?
2) Are there any agencies to definitely avoid? (If I have to go that route)
3) What sort of salary range should I be looking for in Istanbul?
4) What should I be paying for an apartment roughly? (Of course this will depend on the location within Istanbul as well)
Any help would be massively appreciated as I really want to find my first teaching job and start making some money whilst experiencing a different way of life and meeting new people. |
