After a long time of saying they were never going to do it they have now increased the maximum starting salary to 130,000SR a year. comes to about SR10,500, which considering the holidays and location, is not that unreasonable.

Did you mean to say minimum starting salary (instead of the stated maximum)? Just checking.
Thanks

No maximum starting salary as it says. It used to be 119,000SR a year I seem to remember. I think the minumum starting salary has stayed the same.

In previous academic years starting date has been later. Timing of Ramadan changes things. It is still hot in August. Very hot.

At KFUPM you will find some good students. Bright young men who are interested in learning. Of course you get idlers too, but my experiences there were positive.

The fall semester for government universities starts on August 23. Faculty must report to work the week before.

would that be the MAXIMUM salary ???

Shocked

i heard good things about KFUPM and since at my current workplace the students are pretty horrible, i was thinking about applying

but this is putting me off. i thought AT LEAST 50% more for basic salary

is this for real?

any benefits added to basic?

The salary quoted above is the bottom of the scale. There is a scale which you will progress on, with annual increments, until you reach the maximum. I guess the maximum is now around SAR 18,000.

Those nearer to His Majesty can correct me on that one.

Teachers can earn extra on that by overtime, evening classes and teaching summer school. I resisted all that and made do with the monthly salary.

This is an old thread---the salary indicated above is from 2004.
