I saw a job posting for Lalla Khadija College of Health Sciences in Rabat, Morocco, a new(ish?) branch of Institute of Applied Technology Fatima College of Health Sciences in the UAE. IAT’s site doesn’t mention it and I can’t find anything online. Can anyone tell me more about the place? Thank you.

I'd avoid for now. I was interviewed earlier this year, and it sounds a start up mess, as in they don't actually have a building, so imagine being in the unwanted rooms of another college department.

Recruitment was diabolical - I waited eight weeks for the offer to come through, by which time, I was so pissed with their attitude, I ripped it apart, which wasn't too difficult. Given that the parent organisation is a college in the UAE - read cash rich, the offer for Rabat, where living is considerably harsher, taxation at an incremental rate gets very high, and of course, the infrastructure not too good, the offer was poor. I'd even have to pay my own hotel for the first few weeks whilst looking for an apartment. Not good, considering what peers in the UAE would be earning while living a much better lifestyle. I got the impression that the college had basically gutted the contract, trimming it back to the bare bones, because it looks good compared to what schools in Morocco seem to pay.

In all of that, as I said, it's a start up, bound to be full of teething troubles, and from what I could make out, a very small team in Rabat, so not much in the way of support.

I'd have expected better, and given that after such a long wait to have confirmation of being the successful candidate, I declined the offer.

This doesn't surprise me at all...in addition to too many rules and regulations for financial transactions/salary issues most schools in Morocco will pay you a low, basic local Morocco EFL salary plus few (if not any) benefits whatsoever. Morocco is still best visited as a tourist destination....especially Rabat which is becoming more and more expensive to visit daily! Shocked
