| Newbie question: Looks like the ideal time to start a contract in China is September. I'm not sure I will have all my ducks in a row by then. Will it be difficult to get a contract and Z visa (coming from the US) after that? Do public school contracts generally only start in Sept or Feb? |

At my last school we had teachers starting mid October-ish. So if your 'ducks are in a row' in that timescale you should be OK. If you are talking about say end November you are probably a candidate for Feb (2016) start.
Remember July/August is holiday time for uni staff as well as students. Accordingly you may just simply be too late to get anyone to focus on your availability. |

| One can't arrive at a school faster than a hiring system will allow. As NS said, teachers arrive late all the time. This is especially true of universities in smaller cities where it is difficult to hire FTs. If you are accepted NOW, you have time to do everything on your end. The rest is up to the school. |
