Yes I know its a very unsavoury topic, but education been what it is or lack of it thereof, tis appropriate for this esteemed forum and bearing in mind that the man in the white house said the good ole US of A is the only advanced and developed country where this type of event seems to happen with monotonous regularity. Is that a fact? It kinda begs the question, when will this race issue become a thing of the past? After all ya all voted him in!
One of my colleagues from the other side of the pond refered to him as a ,,, wait for it melon head, I believe he is from the deep South. So where does all this hate come from in such a developed and civilized country?

It's actually a perverse testament to the power of education:

Sorry Johnslat, What exactly is a perverse testament to the power of education? I don't follow you. I confess I only watched a bit of your video link. It was too sugary sweet for my taste. Were you being mawkish?

This sort of 'light entertainment' is what I was talking about in our earlier discussion about the U.S. being hardly better than North Korea.

You see. If nine innocents were pointlessly murdered in the DPRK, I suppose the killer would be summarily executed along with a great hoo ha about it. The message would be, "Citizens do not murder other citizens."

Now in the United States much the same would occur except that our government has conditioned us to fudge over pointless tragedies. No offense, but there will always be someone to do as you have done: cite a schmaltzy moralistic and sappy song (of which we have plenty and several for every occassion) to paper over a given tragiedy and take the sting away. DPRK's chief weapons are propaganda and brutality and execution. America's are propganda, brutality, execution and syrupy entertainment.

Now, I agreed with you earlier that the U.S. is not quite as bad as North Korea, but perhaps you can explain just what it is that makes it better? Is it because we have actually used our WMDs against innocents and don't just talk about it as The Kims' Korea does? Or perhaps its because unlke DPRK our people are free to exercise their first amendment right to bear arms and maybe slaughter innocent churchgoers if their blood sugar gets out of whack?

(I don't imagine North Koreans have much problem with blood sugar).

Few expressions to follow such a qualification are successful. But as offense is subjective, you've caught a lucky break with johnslat, who you already know is rarely, if ever, mawkish and precisely why you bait him now.

But to answer what I consider to be your insulting glosses:
The perpetrator of this waste and tragedy was not born hating; he learned it.

What's your problem? And who are you to be insulted? You are wrong to think I am baiting anyone. I really don't get why JS posted that video, and I am asking him to explain. And it makes no sense your accusation that anyone would bait him because he is being mawkish. Or do you mean that it is because he isn't being mawkish that I bait him? Either way you are not making any sense. Please be clear. And while I am here: I tried to watch the video again. I can't get past 0:51 - if anything is offensive it's that video.

My point is that Americans are nearly as oppressed a people as the North Koreans. Their corporate government just has a much subtler way of going about keeping them in line. It involves, among other methods, widely available cherry pie and tear-jerk manipulatiive entertainment published it at just the right time, but it is repression just the same. Can't you see that?

I don't mean to get off-topic, I just saw an opportunity to point out to Johnslat that he hmself has been conditioned to make light of tragic murders. If I am misinterpreting his meaning in posting that video, I have politely asked him thrice now to explain why he did so because what I see is that nine of our fellow citizens were murdered in their church by a malcontent cracker and all can think to do in reaction is post a ridiculous video. What good does that do? I'm asking!

The song in the video clearly says that children learn hatred from adults, and advises parents to be careful about what they say in front of their children. I agree that it's sugary, but the message it conveys is an important one. If you watch the whole video you might just understand it.

Frankly, I think you're using John's post as a means of pursuing a feud with him.

No feud here, officer. Who is this johnslat that I would want to feud with him? I do notice that people, i.e., buravirgil, get very touchy when you point out that they have been operating under an illusion. Excuse if I'm off-topic, but America and all the Western nations have their people under enough control (mind-f*cking) that they make the Kim dynasty look like ham-fisted amateurs. If you all cannot see that you're only fooling yourselves, and I guess I have to expect that you'd shift the blame to me for pointing it out. I never meant to lose the thread, but I really couldn't help but notice that Mr. Slat is the same fellow who disagreed with me in a recent thread that DPRK had nothing on USA, and could offer nothing more profound than that we disagreed.

Look. Step out of the box for a moment, and see! DPRK tells its people that USA is pure evil. USA tells its people that DPRK leaders are pure evil. Could you all please entertain the possibility that there's much more too it than that?

Meanwhile there are these racial minortiy church goers who were killed by a racial majority man, dickhead though he is, and that's just the way the true rulers of the world want it.

Thtat boy who shot those people said he wanted to start a civil war. Poor sucker! He might never understand that he's just another link in the chain, and as exploited as ever much as the ancestors of those church people were.

If Dylann Roof never existed, they would find it necessary to invent him.

Dear Enkates,

I don't feel any need or desire to defend my posting since both buravirgil and grahamb have already written pretty much what I would have.

Moreover, I think you're doing a fine job of letting everyone who reads this thread realize your position, too. And I have no problem with letting any such readers come to their own conclusions regarding our respective opinions.

Regards,
John
