I would like to get a job at an international school at some point. My experience in mostly teaching in the public school system in the U.S.
Does anyone have any advice? |

Take a look at the websites for International Schools Review, Teach Away, Seek Teachers, and Footprints for info and requirements. |

tieonline.com as well for job adverts. Now is probably a good time to get last minute offers for the coming year. |

Anywhere from December to April - take a look at the ISS, UNI, and Search Associates fairs for dates. Latin America and Europe seem to be earlier and the Middle East and Asia seem to be later, but there are many exceptions. There are certainly jobs still out there. |

It varies a bit based on the "where" but largely, Dec - May for Aug/Sept start of 1st term for the better "international schools".
Usually earlier rather than later unless you fall into a position where the 1st teacher was dropped (visa issues) or a no-show.
Those schools who are international in name only tend to follow more closely to the regional/country specific school calendar.

TIE Online - fairly cheap, easy to sign up, no job fairs included, lots of international school job listings.
Search Associates - pricy investment and lengthy sign up procedure (confidential references, etc.), gives entry to 1 free job fair (sign up early), lots of international school job listings complete with school profiles (e.g., salary, health info., accreditation info, etc.). some fantastic schools list positions with them. |
