Hello All,
We are Australian couple, both qualified TESOL teachers, roaming China's south-west in search of English teaching work. We have set our sights on Sichuan, having passed through Hong Kong, Nanning, Guilin and Kunming. We both have the above mentioned TESOL certificate and University degrees in International Dev. (Ma) and Arts/Science (Ba, Hon). Ideally we are looking for work for 5-6 months. We realise that the next term starts in September-Feb but would really prefer to start work as soon as possible. We realise too that we are not arriving at the best time as schools begin to start their summer holidays. We had thought that there would be plenty of summer work but have been told otherwise by a recruiter. Can people please confrim/ deny this and or provide any possible leads? We would very much appreciate any information you could pass on regarding finding work in the province of Sichuan. We will obviously suss out Chengdu for a good while but would also be interested in teaching in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. We are also willing to teach all ages. Thankyou again in advance for anything you can provide.
Kind regards
Charlie and Mikaela |

Not wanting to sound like a smart a s s (which, I believe, is how most people regard me in any event), I do wonder about people posting very broad, very vague requests for information, such as this.
I can understand people asking specific questions about specific schools and cities.
Truly, wouldn't it be more productive to do a bit of searching on the internet?
Notwithstanding, being a fellow Melbournite (although I haven't lived there since 1984), I will indulge you.
You will be able to secure 6 month contracts for the term commencing in late August or early September.
In the meantime, there is an abundance of summer jobs available.
Have a look at the following websites:-
