I got a job offer from a recruiter after interviewing with them and the employer itself. Everything seems good but it turns out the recruiter is one which has been described as a giant red flag in of itself in a recent and not-so-recent threads. I decided to google up the employer and see they have the same job offer lined up for direct hire. I'm tempted to just apply through the employer instead of signing for the recruiter but wonder how feasible this is.

For clarification, no one "signs" with a recruiter unless the recruiter is also the employer. So I suspect that recruiter is actually a contracting company that employs teachers to work at client sites (i.e., universities, colleges, military facilities, etc.). Anyway, there's no reason why you can't apply directly if you have the qualifications.
