Hi, I want to go to Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand and pick up some casual teaching work there. Will I need a medical certificate and if so, what vaccinations would I need? Will I need confirmation I'm clear of HIV / syphilis / TB or anything? thank you

For casual (read illegal) work you won't need anything other than a pretty white face (a passport from an anglophone country would be an asset).

If you want proper work with a work visa and work permit then you will likely need an in-country medical. These are cheap (usually less than US$100 (VN) and $20 (Thai). The rest of SE Asia is even more lackadaisical insofar as a medical is concerned.

You should have had, for your own reasons, vaccinations for Hep A/B and Japanese Encephalitis as well as the usual run of childhood diseases (MMR, DPT, etc) but they are not a "requirement".

For a work permit in Vietnam, you will, but not for Cambodia. I don't know what the process is for Thailand.
