|
|
I've been offered a job by a company in Saudi and they gave me a contract with all the usual stamps and signatures and a visa number on it. They told me to work on processing my work visa with BCS. This took a good few months due to the incompetence of the saudi cultural bureau who said they lost my CELTA form sent by the cambridge past records office, but actually had it the whole time and didn't attest it because the name on it was arranged differently - surname, middle name, first name rather than first name, middle name, surname and they didn't have the brain cells to read the name properly and understand it was actually mines, thus I had to go down to gunnersbury and speak to the idiots as they never ever answer their phone. Now it's attested I need to do the rest of the steps, but since then I've been offered a few more jobs by other companies, some with a slightly higher salaray, some with better benefits etc. Question is: can I progress with another offer even though I've been given a contract already? Has the work visa at the saudi end already been processed or can I get another work visa with another company? Will this complicate things?
Sorry for the long wall of text. Any expert advice would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

You may have to wait 3 months after your Saudi Visa is issued, which is when it expires, until you can try to get another one. I know that after your visa is expired you can apply for another one, but you may be able to do it before. I would talk to the agent. The agent would know since they do this stuff all the time. |

Damn, didn't know about the three month rule. My work visa offer was sent on April 28th. It's now July 15th. Guess I have to get a move on and do everything these next couple of days. Just wanted to find out what the craic is with the multiple visa offers before making my decision. I sent an email to the agents of the company but no replies yet. |

Contact your agent or an agent that handles visas. I said maybe you might have to wait until your present Saudi visa expires, but I don't know for sure. |

Instead of focusing solely on better salary and bennies, make sure those other companies are ones that won't screw you over. Research them before yanking your current deal. |
