Hello,

I started my search in China for work quite late and now I need to make some decisions quickly although none of them offer perfection.

I'm keen on Hangzhou Wanxiang College but they've left me hanging on for a second interview with their Deputy Dean for over two weeks and haven't provided a contract / pictures of the accommodation etc despite being asked several times.

I would just drop it but I know someone from the uni through a forum, and he seems legitimate....

The other offers I'm considering are Zhengzhou University which is through CZZ China and also Zhengzhou University of Light Industry - any information on any of these places would be hugely appreciated.

Maybe you are getting things the wrong way around. Posting on Dave's is the FINAL step after you've gotten thing to an advanced stage with 2/3 unis.
In the current situation, go like mad with the Zhengzhou pair. If the slowcoach misses out - too bad.
Get the offers - perform due diligence (the Job Offer Checklist thread is a good memory-jogger), run past Dave's readers and choose.
You don't have a helluva lot of time for Sept start.

Possibly. I've got offers from all of them though so I'm not sure what else I should have done first. .... I've done research into each but I am hitting a brick wall in terms of actual information regarding the uni. This is the place I will work so it's a huge factor in the decision and something relatively small like a idiot FAO could completely alter my decision.

I have some negative information on one of the Zhengzhou uni of Light Industry and the idea of the working through another company doesn't appeal (plus there are some dodgy clauses in their contract so I'm kind of waiting on Wanxiang.

But everything could change if posters offer more positive information on the Zhengzhou two - particularly as today they're saying the Deputy Dean is now recovering from jet lag (he's been away on business this week + a vacation, hence the wait).

Be careful, Hangzhou Wanxiang Polytechnic
has a connection with the infamous Hangzhou Helen:

Probably better for you to contact universities directly than work through an agency.

I have had repeated offers in Zhengzhou and always turn them down. Nothing but bad news in all of henan from what I'm told. There was a massive riot at one of them because they claimed to be giving out Zhengzhou U degrees but didn't. I'd rather work at wally world personally. Not saying anything bad about you, just saying from what I hear it's rather disgusting.
