Hi there. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes for a spousal visa to come through once you apply? Or tell me how long it took for theirs.
I'm just waiting for my iqama and then I'm going to be applying for my husband to come over.

| Once you get your iqamah open bank account and register with online ABSHIR services. Online istiqdam process is very easy. It will take maximum 2 weeks for the whole process . I mean from istiqdam application to getting Saudi viza for your husband will take less than 2 weeks. |

The reason I mentioned if your employer/sponsor was assisting you is because some companies require new employees pass their 90-day probationary period before family members can be brought over. (Employers have 90 days to obtain the iqama--- before the employment/work visa expires.) Additionally, some women have written of difficulties sponsoring or bringing their spouse:

Thanks for the info.
My employer knows that he will be coming over. They haven't mentioned anything about my 90 day probationary period.
Will see once my Iqama comes. There is a woman who works for my company who is bringing husband and kids over. Not sure how long she's been here though. Will have to ask her. |

I last did this three years ago, and since then the whole process is done online, which means no getting up at an ungodly hour to go to the ministry to get your yellow paper.
Anyway, once you have your Iqama, you pay the 2000SAR fee online, and soon as that is done and all you have submitted all the docs, you're ready to go. Normally very quick. The only thing that can slow it down is how long it takes the spouse to do the medical at their end.
Also, once in country, Iqamas for family should take no more than a few days.
Of course, it can all go wrong though! |
