Thinking of living aboard and working teaching English in Vietnam.
I am Vietnamese-Canadian and have my TESOL certificate and a Bachelor degree in Science so I believe I my options of teaching are not limited to just English I hope.
I can speak the language but not so much read and write which I am learning now. Both my parents are from Vietnam and all my relatives still live in Vietnam.
All I can find is part-time work here in Ontario, Canada so I hope there is some kind of teaching job I can do to live comfortably.
Another question I would like to know if there are any English universities/colleges so I earn another degree while living in Vietnam? I heard of RMIT Vietnam but would like to continue schooling. A passion of mine to to learn and teach computer technology. |

There are a few international students at RMIT. Teaching jobs should be easy to come by and you might be able to parlay your Science degree into teaching math.
Knowing the language will be an asset but not strictly necessary for finding jobs. Will help you out damn near everywhere else though! |

I thank you greatly for your response. I feel hopeful in going now to live and work. I am stuck here in Canada without much prospects and would rather work 'full time' in a better weather. I don't see a full time job anytime in soon here for me in Canada from where I stand.
Another question I have is that has anyone done some volunteer teaching too or working at the public\normal schools that normal kids go to?
I speak Vietnamese at a highschool level so I wouldn't mind starting at that level or lower to teach English or Maths. Probably the pay would not be good but but I need the experience. |
