I sent my documents to be verified at the Cultural Affairs office in Virginia, and it's taking a while to hear back from them. What's a realistic turnaround time for them to verify my diploma, criminal record, etc.? At what point should I determine I'm not being dealt with in good faith? I have to add a week because Eid.

They've already reopened. See SACM hours. Since you've submitted your entire visa application, be aware that the SACM only evaluates academic credentials; the rest of your documents are reviewed by the consulate, which determines visa approval. Anyway, there's no reason to believe they're not processing your application in good faith, although delays can occur when there's missing or unclear info.

It took them about a week, give or take a day, from each time to confirm/deny anything. Good or bad faith, you can't really do anything about it anyways. :/

I don't know if this is relevant because my experience is in the UK, but the rules for the SACB there, are that you need to get your awarding body to send a verification e-mail to them confirming the validity of your certificate.

And only after that will they attest your certificate.

but hey! Saudi time, takes a while, enjoy your holiday!

The process and requirements are different for the US.
