During the gold rush it's a good time to be in the pick and shovel business.

However... That would require 1) a contract that pays big bucks (or lots of years on a mediocre salary); and 2) permission from the sponsor/employer to work a second job (or risk being caught).

But yeah, buy the guy's book. Rolling Eyes
Or, as with any savings plan/goal, use common sense and a lot of financial restraint. It's not rocket science.

Totally obvious advice... don't need to buy anything to figure that out. But first you need to find that job in the Gulf that pays $7000 a month (over 25,000 SAR) and also provides housing and all other benefits. That represents perhaps only some contracts with military and oil companies ... positions that are an option for perhaps a third of the men and zero women.

The next catch is that once you find a job with these big bucks, you need to be located somewhere that has any extra work options or for more than a half dozen. Many of the oil or military jobs are rather in the middle of nowhere.

As a result of my extensive contacts in horse-racing circles on both sides of the Atlantic I am often in a position to provide tips on SURE FIRE WINNERS.

Results guaranteed. No need to work EVER AGAIN !

You believe that hokum ? Of course not.

So why believe this nonsense about US$250,000 in 3 years ?

I know one guy who works for a big US contractor in Jeddah. He finishes work each day by 1 pm. He then has privates with many international school kids til 9 pm.

He makes 10,000$ a month. So it can be done. But it is tough!

Just because something can be done doesn't always mean it should be. So yes, earning mega bucks is achievable, but at whose expense because he's definitely functioning well below 100%. Both his quality of life and teaching suffer. It's nothing to be proud of or bragging about. Majnun.

The post asked about 250,000$ in 3 years and I gave an example.

If the guy wants to work hard, then great.

No one's criticizing you. There's a reason why many countries throughout the world set the workweek at around 35-42 hours. Working 50+ hours a week like a machine month after month is both mentally and physically taxing and ends up negatively impacting the person's quality of work and life. With the guy you mentioned, his main employer (the contracting company) and students as well as the paying customers on his side job all expect a fully-functioning teacher. It's highly doubtful he's meeting that expectation.

The working hours in the Magic Kingdom is not the same as the working hour in the West.
For example, 50 working hours in the Magic Kingdom is equivalent to 25 working hours in the UK.

At least 134 countries have laws setting the maximum length of the work week; the U.S. does not.
In the U.S., 85.8 percent of males and 66.5 percent of females work more than 40 hours per week.
Americans work 137 more hours per year than Japanese workers, 260 more hours per year than British workers, and 499 more hours per year than French workers
.

So, saving $250000 in three years in the Magic Kingdom is doable and commended (paid holiday theory!).
