Does anyone know what the rules (if there are any) are about the reimbursement of costs for travel home between NET contracts? I'm being told that I have to wait until I get back to be reimbursed. Does anyone have experience with this?
Thanks in advance. |

There have been raging debates about this.
Most schools require 2 quotes from either airlines or travel agents. They will choose the cheaper or average of the two and reimburse up to and including that amount. Some require a receipt that you have purchased said tickets before paying anything out.
Seems that each school is different. I would talk to your money person at your school. I would not offer to wait for it, but offer to get 2 quotes and a receipt prior to payment.
Wish I could be of more help, but I am in the middle of my contract and have not yet had to deal with this problem yet...will get back to you next year! |

also, in this day and age of electronic tickets, it may be tough to get ticket printouts from some places. |

That is the key word. Get the quotes and keep the airline ticket stubs. If you are leaving forever, you should get the money after you have bought the ticket but before you leave. |
