Hi all,

I am an EFL teacher in Spain. I have just started in a new academy and have to teach an elementary adult class next week. I have been told that I won't have the book for the first lesson, so will just need to do an introductory lesson from my new initiative. I have a good few years teaching experience but not at this level. I taught an adult elementary class last year. It went well but always with my trusty book! I just don't have a great repertoire of ideas for this level. I have been told that these students have already studied up to Unit 4 of their current elementary book, so they are not absolute beginners, so I should (in theory) have something to work with.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I could use in class? Ideas, ice-breakers, communicative activities, vocabulary, etc.....

Many thanks in advance Wink

Take a look at the ESL Cafe's Idea Cookbook.

ESL Library is nice, but is a pay site. I'm using it right now with a group of false beginners/elementary adults.
