How did you survive those horrible days from Monday through Thursday? Without eslcafe.com/discussion??? I had almost sleepless nights over that!
Monday evening: It worked. I got a PM, but due to the slowness of my computer failed to open it. "Do it tomorrow!"
On Tuesday: "Error" said the computer screen when I had typed in "eslcafe.com". Error? Errare humanum est - but can computers err???
I type it again. "Error" repeated my daft compy.
I tried from the google website. I tried from Yahoo!. Every time I failed.
Ah, it was shortly after June 4th, infamous key date in China... maybe the PSB...???
In the middle of the night, I got up again and stareted up my computer. "Error" again.
Wednesday came and went, and no news on the eslcafe front. Except that an American-based correspondent informed me he was unable to access eslcafe there as well...
So, had al-Khaida bombed out Dave?
I sent him an email and promptly received assuring news.
Glad to note eslcafe is up and running again!
Congratulations to the boys who salvaged this website! |

Hmmm. This is now the third thread devoted to this week's disaster.
My, but aren't we a bunch of addicts?!? (myself included, of course)

Likewise, and at first I thought it was the commies who blocked the site. But then threads from other places in the world disproved that.
Needless to say, it was a tough few days. Which begs the question, how do non-Dave's teachers survive? This site has been a real life-saver, in that without it, I'd have probably broken the contract at my current school. Dave's provides the networking and support which we need!

Yes, I have to admit t'here's something addictive about this basically pointless forum.
But believe me, once you're free of an addiction you're free. Free to move on to bigger and better things. Free to live your own life and say what you wanna say without apologies.
To think I used to be a junkie, too.
Later, that's enough for me. |
