I know 'temperate' is a very subjective idea, but what livable cities do people know that are reasonably temperate?
At the moment I live in Quito, and the temperature here is pretty much the same year round, i.e. low to mid 20's (70's), dropping a little in the evenings.
A couple of years in Tokyo, with cold winters and horribly sticky summers, really reminded me how much I appreciate the climate here. Some people complain Quito is too cold, but for me, it's perfect.
That got me wondering if there are other places out there with similar temps. |

Lake Chapala region of Mexico
Cuernavaca, Mexico (also "City of Eternal Spring")
Canary Islands
Portion of San Diego, US closest to the coast--apparently it gets very hot very quickly as you move inland

Thank for the suggestions, though if the average weather stats are right, Kunming gets down to near 0 in winter, that's a bit cold for me! I'm going to look at the others. |
