| I'm looking into starting teaching in China this March. I'm hoping to work in a university. I had a question about the ESL certifications. I have two years esl teaching experience as a volunteer in the US but don't have any training or certs. I've read conflicting things about the necessity of getting a certification and am trying to figure out my best option. I'd prefer to take something online bc there aren't any real life classes near me and I don't have a car. Will an online certification be sufficient for most situations? What about the # of hours? Most job postings don't seem to demand a certain number of hours. Will a 40 hour program be enough to get me a university job? |
