Hello everyone. While I am receiving job offers from China, I have tried to find a place I wanted to live. After finding Harbin, it seems like the kind of place I want to teach because of the snow and close proximity to Russia and other places I could visit. Can anyone tell me about any experience with work or living in that area please? Also, after finding work, can my husband and daughter be included on my visa without having to have an upfront job for my husband (daughter is 12). Thanks for any information you can offer me.

Family can be included as dependents on your visa, BUT, if your husband wants to work he will have to go through a new visa process to get a Z which may mean going back home or to HK.
Check housing offers closely and make sure schools know you're bringing family. Most employers organize housing on a one teacher/one bedroom system. You may have to find your own (a whole new headache) or pay for extra space.
P.S.
Snow doesn't necessarily mean availability of winter sports like skiing if that's what you're looking for.
Might want to check on how to get a visa to Russia before you decide. There are some extra requirements.
As stated, the air quality can be pretty bad. |
