Hi there all.
I am a newbie here, my first post and i'm already soliciting your help. Thanks in advance, anyway.
I have an unrelated degree, recently completed CELTA, but I have been working (and still do) at a local after school training centre as an English teacher (teaching youngster as well as adults). Would that help in terms of experience? Or does the experience need to be gained after CELTA?
Furthermore, I really want to study for an MA therefore, I want to secure a job that would last me - from now - until the summer so that I can get back to Blighty (UK) by August, latest, to start studying for the MA.
Realistically, can I get a job that would start January onward...?
Your words of wisdom are appreciated.
By the way, I am interested in Saudi only for monetary reasons.[/b] |

You'd have to apply to find out if your pre-CELTA experience will be counted, although I doubt some companies will find it to be an issue. As for starting a job this month, forget about it; the hiring process can take weeks or more.
Additionally, be aware that contracts are generally for a year, so if you plan on bailing sooner than that, you'd have to get your employer's permission for an exit visa to leave the country. Since you won't be starting this month, that also cuts into your plan to save X amount of money. Something to consider. |

Thanks for your help.
I am in a bit of predicament.
Would you suggest that I be upfront and honest about this with the contractors, as I am only going for contractors, and see what they come back with. Also, will this have a detrimental effect on my future job prospects in the Kingdom, that is if I take one year contract and then leave for the summer break and don't come back. Is that a possibility?
Thanks again. |

If you're that desperate as well as concerned about future work in KSA, apply but explain that you're only able to work until August and are interested in a business visit visa. There's no guarantee you'll get a response. But who knows. Anyway, that's another option.
I believe Ramadan starts in early June, so factor in Eid. |

Impossible? Can't be done? Or is it difficult but possible?
Which one is it? |

For starters, you haven't even applied for any jobs yet, and we're already a third into January. Go on the Cafe's job board for positions you're qualified for and apply. State in your cover letter that you're available immediately and are only interested in a business visit visa (no exit visa needed to depart KSA). In fact, you don't need to go into further detail since it's likely those sketchy companies that routinely bring teachers over on these visas might be interested in you. But visas don't get approved as quickly as you want nor do these companies care about your predicament. |

The OP is being totally unrealistic. Postponing his MA start date until August 2017 MIGHT make it feasible. |
