Where were you during the Great Dave's Blackout of 2004?
Is this something we'll be telling our grandchildren about? Can't believe the mainstream media hasn't run stories on this catastrophe. |

No kidding dude ... I was just about to check myself into the Betty Ford Clinic for rehab because the withdrawal was sooooo bad. But staying addicted is a LOT cheaper! |

I know, I was seriously searching CNN for any news about Dave's being down! Quite sad, what my life has come to. |

Actually it's nothing compared to the Great Yahoo Blackout. I've been unable to get to Yahoo mail for over a week, and have only just been successful. Apparently it is only affecting some addresses. |

Great Wall of Whiner when he is 78 years old, talking to his grandson:
GWoW: Boy, did I ever tell ya 'bout the Great Dave's Blackout of '04?
GS: Yes Granddad. Many times.
GWoW: Well, er, um...did I ever tell ya 'bout the Great Dave's Blackout of '07?
GS: Yes, Granddad. A million times.
GWoW: Well, er, hows 'bout a million and one for ol' time's sake, eh?
CS: [sigh] Okay Granddad. Let me just get my pillow.... |

Where was I during the Blackout?
Curled up in a little fetal ball in front of my computer, sobbing uncontrollably.

Hahaha! Ah~ Brings back memories. I remember being married to a Japanese girl once...
Here are the wife's natterings, added with proper responses:
HER: "You love computer more than me"
ME: Yes, I love the computer more than you love the computer"
HER: "You know what I means!!!"
HER: "I am jealous of computer"
ME: "Why? Because it has a lot of RAM? Gets a new hard drive? Don't be jealous dear. At least you don't get a 3.5" floppy!"
HER: "You know what I means!!!"
HER: "Do you want divorce so you can marry computer?"
ME: "No way, dear. The wedding night would be a shock to my input device."
HER: "You know what I means!!!" |

Even I can recognize addiction when I see it.
If it was the other way around, I'd feel the same way as my wife does.
Anyone out there have a cure for this disease many of us possess? |

Yep. My hotmail has been causing great trouble and strife lo, these few days. Couldn't get in at all yesterday or day before, and am slooooooowly getting in today. Very slowly. Still loading. Yawn. I think I'll go for a beer and wait.
Is this a sign of the apocalypse? (bad internet, i mean, not beer) |

You're all digital-crack addicts too! At last! We can share everything! I've been hooked since '93 when I discovered chat rooms. Then there was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater... The Sims... Napster... Oh wait. No, file sharing is a CRIME (they're watching us, you know)! I think we should continue to pay 17.99 for CDs and LIKE IT! Nevermind that most of the music I listen to is not distributed, I want some POP! Britney! Justin! Nick! Jessica! I love you! Speak to me! Climb into my life even though I don't know you! |
