Frankly, I'm beginning to find these "rankings" rather tedious and useless. Not much difference from year to year for the 10 years I've been following them. Basically a re-arranging of the deck chairs is what it's become. Amazing the world-wide industries these rankings have spawned and the servile and fawning reactions to them from even the most "illustrious" universities.

which gives a listing of the countries covered. (Interestingly, the UAE is listed but it lists only ONE university.....one wonders why. There is more than one uni in the UAE, right?)

ADDENDUM: The list shows the American University of Beirut (AUB) in Lebanon but not the nearly as famous American University in Cairo (AUC). The list also does not consider the US universities in Education City in Qatar. One wonders why not. Are these institutions of no significance at all?

The KSA list is particularly valuable for job seekers as it lists ALL unis in KSA - a compilation that is not so easy to find elsewhere.

Are you comparing KAUST which is a city surrounded by a giant wall so Saudis cant see or get in?

Great faith is placed in these "League Tables" by Saudi Academics and Administrators. My own view is that the indicators used distort reality. If you want a list of Saudi Ubis there is a comprehensive one, including e-mail addresses on Wikipedia.
