Has anyone been employed by this outfit recently?
I was shortlisted, then interviewed...very bizarres. I thought they interview went very well. There was the Emirati manager, a Brit, who was head of the ESL program or lead teacher, and a German who was working in the oil industry. Anyhow, after 45 minutes they'd asked me if I had any questions. I asked them when they'd be contacting people, was told in 2 to 3 weeks. As am thanking them to leave the Emirati excuses himself to the others and follows me out, tells me I hadn't signed some paper when I got there and to just wait a minute I'm thinking, ok, strange, or not? Five mins later a local guy I'd met when I'd arrived there comes over and says, "ok, you can go now.". I told him this other guy said I had to sign something, his response, " No problem, just I want to tell you I will call to you in this afternoon with good news. We will all have a great weekend!" OoooKKKKK then, guess what, heard nothing from them! I was all excited telling everyone (and asking them what they thought) I'd gotten a job with ADCO. I went to see them about 2 weeks later and asked a guy what happened and was told interviews were still going on, and he said, maybe they just wanted to see you happy? like, wth!
I was REALLy hoping to get on with them. Anyone working for them or know what I'm talking about? |

It's a good gig. However, the price of oil is on the slide and recruitment may have come to a halt. All the oil companies pay more or less the same when you break it down but the ADCO gig has a good housing allowance, which makes it pip the others. Think you'll find a lot of turmoil/change in oil company training programmes right now, so be patient and keep applying. |

thanks, it was in like April, not feeling to hopeful, although I'd contacted the recruiters and they said they'd not heard back from them at all, so could well be things came to a halt with oil in such dire straits. |
