Anyone teach in Samara from 2000-2009 and know the legendary English Teacher X, of the notorious and infamous blog? Are the stories true?

Yes. Yes. We were a debauched group of degenerates back in the day.

I read his book - sounded like quite the ride, in more ways than one. How is the scene in Russia these days? Seems that the party is over? And how's his cat Doofus doing?

Of course, some of the names were changed, but appropriately descriptive, nonetheless. Ah, the good old days of English Teaching!

I like English Teacher X's prose. He's an interesting read, not just his story, but the way he tells it.

There's another series out there by English Teacher Y, too. Different than X's style, but still a good read.
