I'm in Guangzhou now with only a tourist visa. I'm looking for a position starting in this next semester. However, with the spring vacation going on now many schools aren't replying much or want me to wait a couple more weeks for an interview/demo class. I'm flexible and willing to move to a different city for the right job offer. Ideally, I'd find a uni job in a tier 1 or tier 2 city. I'm not sure if I'll have any luck finding a last minute uni position. I'm also not ruling out other positions though I'd prefer to avoid training schools. I've sent out some cold emails to unis here in Guangzhou but don't expect any response til after CNY, if that. Any advice on finding a position during this time period? When do schools start coming back into session? Any ways to increase my luck of being in the right place at the right time to find a school short of a teacher?

Try Wall Street. They were still looking for teachers in Shenzhen a couple of weeks ago. Try [email protected] and send them your resume and documents. They got me an interview with WS. They pay 16000 a month.

What's your plan for changing that tourist visa to a Z visa?

You've been a forum member for about a year. Certainly, you must have read the many discussions about this issue. If you have new information to share, please do so.

Thanks in advance

You beat me to it. Just how does he plan to work at any school/university without such a Z visa. Looks like he might be going the Mill route and all that entails.

As you said, you're not likely going to find a uni position during this time. You're going to have to bite the bullet and work a crappy training school until next Fall probably.

And do so illegally, no doubt. Good luck to the OP.
