|
|
Hi, I want to know what the best international schools are in Dubai, ones that recruit Brits, do they allow your children to attend the school for a discount? Do they accept CELTA, DELTA & MA but no PGCE? Best in terms of salary and package & conditions? My hubby has been offered a non esl related job and I need to find work too in order to relocate. I would prefer midldle school/ upper primary.
Lot of questions but thank you for any useful replies |

Western-curriculum private schools will want to see a teaching license/certification from your home country and related education. (You don't mention what your degrees are in, nor your experience.) Like the responses in your other thread, K12 jobs in Dubai, you're limited to teaching adults and most likely as an adjunct with minimal to no benefits.
Be aware the market is flooded with MA TESOL holders with UAE experience; the government universities --- the largest education employers in the Emirates --- will end their foundation year programs in 2018. There's more competition for fewer jobs.
That said, as a trailing spouse, you really can't start your job hunt until you're in country and as a bona fide resident. |

Thanks Nomad...again:) Yes, I posted a while ago and the job for my husband is still open, we met with the owner of the robotics firm yesterday.
Lack of PGCE has been a real disadvantage for me:( My MA is in Management in Education, and I have 18 years experience with some of the top K12 schools and universities in Turkey...everything but a pgce and it is too expensive to do it now.
I will continue to read back on the forum. I really want to stay in K12, not go back to uni prep and it seems that side of things in Dubai is pretty saturated right now with the changes coming into place. I would prefer to go to Dubai on my own contract rather than be on a spouse permit.
Thanks for the advice, I will look into the ones you mentioned (with cautious hope). Cheers! |

If you're both expecting to live together as a family while receiving full benefits from your respective jobs, it doesn't work that way.
Take a look at these related threads:
