I meant work visas; I meant to reply to the post above. I am sure universities and private schools can get you visas, but languge schools just can not-- or at least that was the case in 2014. In 2014 Maximo Nivel in Cusco-- a large school, not a mom and pop school with 3 classrooms-- issued no visas and said the could not; they helped pay for the order runs. Extreme English also issued no visas when I was there (although that was 9 years ago) and the owner was flt out paranoid out about being caught hiring illegal teachers..but it was clear there was no way to get a visa. Even if in theory language schools can get work visas (meaning that yes the goerment woluld issue them) I am sure that in practice it would be expensive--and teachers would pay for them-- and involve trying to navigate consttantly changing rules. Plus-- even though I am hard core pro-work legally!!-- working legally means paying taxes.. If ou go there to work-unless you are hired by a uniersity or a private k-12 school (or you go through a volunteeer program)-- don't expect a visa.
