I have been offered 12,000RMB a month for 40 hours a week. Teaching = 18 hours. Sales work/admin = 22 hours. If I can get new students I get 5% of the course price. No flight paid, no accomodation. Its in Shanghai. Visa will be provided and paid for. I have teaching qualifications and several years teaching experience.
Is this good or should I approach with caution?? |

Work it out: less rent, airfare, utilities, tax, you might have 8000 a month for 160 hours work. 50 an hour. Qualified and experienced? You can do better at a real school, plus you won't have to sell your soul. |

You should approach any job with caution, regardless of how good it sounds! And this job sounds pretty shitty.
That is way too much work, you'll probably go crazy. And I shudder at what the "sales" part of your job might entail.
As the others posters have said, you can do better. Maybe not in terms of pay, but everything else. |

I received a similar offer at 14500RBM, I asked then for 16000RMB, so far they aren't answering. (40 hours, no selling)

They don't have the legal right to hire you for other purposes than those specified in the contract that they must submit to the PSB for final approval. Administration jobs normally go to locals, and if they take you on board you must have some outstanding skills and be hired for a leading position.
The pay looks relatively poor in relation to the time you put in.
How about holiday pay?
I think it is a bad, and most likely, illicit deal. |
