RIYADH: Princess Noura University (PNU) has prepared 85 training programs for the current academic year. In a statement, PNU said its faculty members, administrative staff and officials should take advantage of the programs.

PNU is the largest university for women in the world. “The programs are intended to make them more competitive and efficient in discharging their responsibilities,” the statement added. PNU added that there’s a plan that includes 21 programs for university officials and leaders, 26 programs for academic staff, 24 programs for the governing body and five programs for others. Different offices at the university have started coordination regarding the nomination of applicants who will undergo training in the different programs.

The programs involve training in language abilities, writing research papers, good communication skills, academic leadership, writing letters and reports, programs on study and research skills, and comprehensive English programs. The programs determine the language level of the applicants and make suggestions on what suits them in accordance with their abilities.

In 2004, the Riyadh University for Women was announced as the first all-women university in the Kingdom, which unified all original colleges in Riyadh. In 2008, King Abdullah inaugurated the campus and changed the name to Princess Noura University, after the sister of King Abdul Aziz, the Kingdom’s founder.

Good. I hope the silly men of that country will grow up and actually hire these women who I'd guess generally run circles around the men in terms of abilities. As this country starts to run into the ground they're going to need every capable person they can find women or man to stay afloat as oil money slips away.
